:-)
I'm having mock elections in my classes this week. There've been some interesting speeches, and my kids are bringing their favorite speeches in, and we'll read them, and discuss the propaganda in them- as we did earlier in the year with speeches by Reagan, Bush, Clinton, MLK and Roosevelt.

We're going over all the candidates on all sides, including the tiny parties that most kids don't even know exist. Then we're going to debate, and vote. It should be fun. Romney seems to have a lock on the republican side, and Obama on the democratic side (in my classes)- but this is coming from parents- because the kids know almost nothing about the races. One republican man-child told me Hillary was a republican, and that's why he would vote for her :-) I'm hoping that's not coming from his parents. But at least now he knows she isn't (and this kid is old enough to vote).
