KT,

>What I don't get is, why do they consider him such a threat? They don't do this sort of thing to Nader, who, like Paul, tells what he perceives to be the truth.<

Ron Paul is actually educating young people about the monetary system, banking system, inflation, the business cycle, the Fed, and the impact of our foreign policy.

He "personally" may not be a threat because he can't win, but somewhere between 5%-10% of the population now has a much better understanding of why we have some of the economic and foreign policy problems we have. That's not good for the thieves in Washington and on Wall St. Anything that limits or discredits the "teacher" helps them by reinforcing the ignorance.

I see that Bill Hickey (High Tech Strategist) broke a long standing newsletter rule and discussed politics in his latest newsletter. He endorsed Paul as the only candidate that had any understanding of what's going on in our markets and economy and made a political contribution for the first time in his life. Things like that carry some weight because he's one of the few really competent analysts out there.

Opposition to war is Paul's biggest appeal. War is the Neocons' only issue. Nader is against war, but it's not his biggest issue. If we had a socialist war mongering gov't, the Neocons would be completely satisfied.
