My city when I was growing up was about 45K people. There was one black family in the entire city. There are considerably more then that now of course but I would imagine for a 65K city it's still not many. A lot of Hmong now. We were a major player in the relocation era and received many families.

Edit: I actually remember a kid from Stanley losing in the final wrestling match at state tournament in 78. He lost because it was the first black kid he had ever seen in his life and he was in kind of a daze staring at the kid:)
