Per CNNFN and AP: Fed chief Ben Bernanke says the central bank is ready to cut interest rates again, AP reports. More soon.

A long bond crash is so bizarre to think about in an environment in which interest rates are preordained to drop that I have a terribly difficult time getting my arms around such a possibility.

I guess I am protected because I am ultra long gold, though my Yen and Swiss Fr. are probably vulnerable along with everything else.

That rational people actually think of these things reminds me of 'sensible' discussions about nuclear war. Sure, we can discuss it reasonably all we want but in our guts we know it cannot happen because no one is that crazy.

Right?
