remember anti-corporate speak plays in the primaries but not in the general election. Corps do more good than harm and one should be careful going after industries because of the bad behaviour of a few.
I will give an example. The private equity cap gains vs income debate overlooks the fact that the brits have been eating our lunch in private equity market. If you hurt our private equity guys my moving cap gains to income tax rates, you are hurting a robust industry and causing job loss. Its never as simple as it seems and for some unknown reason, americans for the most part get it unlike many europeans for example. Springsteen said it in Badlands

"Poor men wanna be rich, rich men wanna be kings,"

Americans want the chance to grab the brass ring jimho.

In the old days with brokered conventions, deals were struck for President and VP. They were also marriages of convenience. LBJ wanted to be president badly too. He also delivered the election for JFK by giving him Texas.

Edwards would be a fool to drop out or not use his clout if he has it. Besides, he hasn't given up yet. But if he loses South Carolina he will probably be running for VP like Richardson was all along.
