The Dow had nearly doubled 7 years after Pearl Harbor and taxes were a lot higher then than they are today...

Wrong. The Bush deficits and corporate gouging are killing our economy, bankrupting our government and people like you try to put lipstick on a pig. I've heard there are TRILLIONS in real Bush deficits they are hiding a la Enron until after the election. The war debacle alone will end up costing an average US family some $40,000. It is a catastrophe in the making and you keep whistling Dixie.
