This is an approach i have argued for for years now. Its great to have a social conscious as many on this thread have. Its great to be a libertarian like ron paul. But its great to find away to integrate the two strains in american thinking that have existed since our beginnings. Socialism by itself morphs into something worse like fascism or communism or just dies because of failure. You just cant take the essential libertarian needs of man and ban it. But otoh, the ayn rand world is not an attractive place at all. You gotta have heart too. The U of C has always been a place where this has been known and discussed for decades. I am encouraged by this article and if true may produce a new paridgm in american politics. Clinton gave us eclecticism as progressivism but that produces a crazy quilt. This could be cool.
