Thats not an adequate answer. Compare Byrd's handling to the Republicans handling of Lott. Show me where Byrd has made a racist comment in the last 5 years. Besides, Lott was denied a leadership position; he wasn't kicked out of the Senate. Byrd and Studds are pretty darn good examples of the Democratic party's moral standards. Byrd's Klan connections was decades ago. Even GOPers believe people can change at least that what they say when they are defending one of their own. As for Studd, his playing around with a page came out nearly a decade later when people found out the page had become his significant other. So it wasn't a sexual dalliance like it was with Foley but a serious connection. While he shouldn't have been fooling with an underaged kid, it wasn't found out until well after the fact. By that time, it would have been stupid to punish him esp. since he was in a long term relationship with the former page. What's pathetic in all this exchange is that you have list that's only a few names long while the one containing GOP names runs for days. Instead of attacking me, you should be trying to figure out why your party has become so corrupted.
