Is that it? I mean, Romney teared up after Iowa and NH.

Z, Romney is a Republican so it was sincere. Clinton is a Democrat so it was a phony gimmick to get votes. I would think that you would have figured that out by now.

Write on the black board 100 times every day:

"Republicans sincere - Democrats phony"

Keep it up and pretty soon you will be thinking just like Ten, without even trying.

Z, > What you have are candidates that have dreamed of being President for years and years, worked hard to maintain a stoic demeanor, and found themselves behind in intense races in which they suddenly found themselves behind and in danger of having their dreams and hard work crushed.

Oh please, cry me a river.

Tearing up over the loss of a parent or child, that's genuine.

Tearing up over the tragedy of a natural disaster, that's fine. Or winning or losing a national sports championship, that's normal.

Tearing up because of the pressures of a political campaign in progress? Give me a break.

How many Democrats were all over Bush for taking a month-long vacation in Crawford, TX, every year? How many of them actually cared about the pressures of being president?

If Hillary's tears were genuine, then she is simply not fit for the office. Period.

What you have are candidates that have dreamed of being President for years and years, worked hard to maintain a stoic demeanor, and found themselves behind in intense races in which they suddenly found themselves behind and in danger of having their dreams and hard work crushed. Also, keep in mind that candidates are now campaigning 24/7 for several months to years longer than they usually would... Romney decided he was running in '04 and Hillary not soon after. I'd probably cry if I were in their shoes, and I think given the length of the campaign, I'd bet that they're not the last candidates this season to lose it a bit on camera.

I might believe what you're saying if it were anyone else but Romney. When Hucabee and "the populist approach" became buzz words in this campaign, suddenly Romney 'remembered' his father marching with MLK. Of course it never happened but it made for a nice sound byte. When "a proponent for change" became the next buzz words, suddenly Romney was all about change. And then when Hillary cried and it seemed to get her votes, suddenly Romney turns into a gushing water works. I hope none of the other candidates base jump from a office building into an arena filled with supporters, because Romney will do the same damn thing, and frankly, he looks a little fragile for base jumping.
