I happen to agree with you and others who don't see healthcare as a right. First of all, to call it a 'right' doesn't really make sense because it is available....it's not being denied. Anyone can go into an emergency room and receive treatment (by law).

I also think people can do a better job of self-educating themselves on home treatments and not run to the doctor for everything. Ditto on folks adopting lifestyles that prevent illnesses.

But it troubles me that there are uninsured people out there who get a cancer diagnosis and just go home to die. Add to that the number of medical bankruptcies in this country, many involving families that thought they had better coverage than they did.

It seems like we should be doing better than this.
