thankfully I don't have the stigma of lead sled dog out of the gate. Of course, I could be looking at a lot of doggie behind for the rest of the year. <GGG>

1/18/08 update
Another horrid week for Wall Street, with the Nasdaq Composite Index now decimated by -11.77% YTD. But, for whatever reason, the bears have found biotechs somewhat less appetizing in 2008, with the Nasdaq Biotech Index only down a mere -.31% YTD (compared to up 2.35% YTD a week ago). The median for Contest portfolios has also started the year less disastrously than the general market, closing the week down -3.67% YTD (vs. up 1.38% YTD a week ago).
At week's end, 11 of the 33 Contest portfolios were in the black YTD and 11 were beating the NBI as well. Although down for the week, ROCKY9's portfolio (up 9.4% YTD) held on to first place.
