I heard about that small tragedy. It seems totally preventable.

Eagles are a touchy subject. In Alaska, on a remote island that you had to fly into or take a boat, I found a sizable eagle feather and picked it up as a souvenir. My colleague said I better get rid of it, so I took it out back and put it on the ground.

I think it's illegal to have eagle feathers, unless you are a Native American. I'm not really sure on this, so if anybody knows the facts, tell us.
