In Obama's defense, he was a brand new Senator, and wasn't really expected to begin by leading the opposition.

That's the real criticism that should be leveled against Hillary Clinton. Yet I have almost never seen anyone make this point on TV. Part of the reason for that, of course, is because her opponents, Barack Obama and John Edwards did no better in their time in the Senate. So, they are embarrassed into an awkward silence on the matter.

I think this article makes a really good point. I'm supporting Edwards because I think he's learned his lesson since his time in the Senate and I think that he's ready to fight now. It may be just political rhetoric on his part, but I'm not even hearing that rhetoric from Clinton and Obama.

I don't quite understand how any Dem senator could have kicked Bush's butt. Up until 2006, Bush controlled Congress. It would have been a meaningless gesture done for show rather than any kind of gain.

What Hillary and Edwards did was go along with Bush's war.........when it didn't take much of a brain to realize that it was a mistake. However, they were afraid to buck what they thought was the national mood.

At least Obama had the balls to say publicly that the war was a mistake even as it was not a popular sentiment at the time.

As for Edwards learning his lesson, hindsight is 20 20......at least when it comes to Iraq. What makes you think he won't make the same mistake going forward in another matter or another war?
