Rightwingers have zero morals to call those smearvets "heros" or "fellow veterans". Everything they put out was the worst type of ugly libel and revisionist history. And the problem with such well-funded smear campaigns, that is if the media cooperates by covering them, is that such 35 year old lies about the heat of combat take time to disprove. And by the time every claim was proven a liem which they all were, the damage was done, which is exactly what Rove wanted. So what did the smearvets accomplish? Well, they helped get more than 5,000 mroie US troops killed and maimed in Iraq, and helped waste another 500 billion dollars in deficit spending, while fanning the flames in the Middle East and spiking up the price of oil. That was what the smearvets were really about, which is why they are definitely traitors.
