In a greenhouse with no air (or with air, it does not matter) it is the glass which functions as the "atmosphere". The glass (assuming you choose it correctly) lets in short wave, but blocks long wave radiation from leaving. As such it functions just like the GHGs of the atmosphere. Duh, who could have thought of that?

The difference with glass is that you can with coatings, make it very good at doing this.

But since your goal is to remain ignorant, you can never figure any of this out on your own.
