Thats right. No medical test can read someone elses mind and judge whether their life is worth living. "There was a lawsuit - collected about $750K after legal fees - it was put in a fund to pay for her care. " 750K to care for a person in her condition wouldn't last too long. Her condition didn't require expensive care apparently. What do you think it costs for a routine nursing home per month for someone who doesn't have to be fed by a feeding tube, be cleaned and changed, rotated often to prevent bed sores, and hooked up to fluids....at least 7-8K. I'd bet her care for those 13 years ran in the millions.... She was in a hospice which is cheaper than a nursing home.

These patients often have pneumonia, kidney infections, sepsys(life-threatening infections) etc., etc. They usually take 10 different types of meds daily. Costs are very high. The issue is: is that what she'd like to have for an additional 10-20 years? Neocons have no idea about what being sick and bed-ridden is, and not being able to say "enough!". Repubs' "family values" BS makes them look more human, so they think.
