Being openly gay is fairly normal and accepted in today's society, so long as you don't act out like a freak. Staying min the closet with a beard wife and preying on kids or hiring gay prostitutes is perverted, deceptive and illegal. Most rightwing gays are guilty of perverse criminality like this, witness Reverend Haggard and Larry Craig as the two most recent examples, but also Porter Goss, Karl Rove and Jeff Gannon and many others. Barney Frank has proven himself to be a very honest man with real integrity. The fact that he's openly gay makes that even more amazing since he's been able to transcend that, making him a brave pioneer. Watch the rightwing talking heads on TV and notice how many of them are closet cases. About half I'd say.
