As far as 'scientific' is concerned, you yourself have posted about several companies over the years with what looked like great fundies that didn't seem to respond with commensurate stock price gains. Folks fall into value traps for years, so you can do all the homework you want and still get killed when holding issues.. Of course, one would think following the fundamentals with a close eye for valuation should give you an edge, but nothing works all the time. It's trying to give yourself the edge that is interesting. You may have an eye for trading that works for you, I'm just saying I haven't ever even tried that and wouldn't know where to start if I had to sell a stock which declined by two pennies after I bought it!
