I can understand why you would see that, I did not understand why he stayed in at first either.

I learned later he was whipsawed. Kind of between a rock & a hard place.

But getting back to cases I do agree with your approach. I hate to use Buffet as an example. He is quoted & written about overmuch. However it's the same principle.

I forget the percentages exactly but he had a huge amount of available capital tied up in AXP after it took a dive over thirty years ago, and he was in the red even so for quite some time.

But it was a smart move. Even the Buy of KO many years ago was a home run. It pays him more in annual dividends than he paid for it.
