And if you read the actual data, you would see that the NUMBER of sales has fallen off a cliff. Therefore the median is being skewed significantly by the purchase of high end homes by the lucky lottery winners at GOOG or AAPL. That won't last.

So if your definition of the health of Bay Area real estate is Atherton or Mountain View, then I guess, sure, it's booming. But it's useless information for those who actually care to make some money.
