This is probably what you were referring to: It looks to me like Mr. Rutkowski authored the article along with an engineer at GSI (who supplies the lasers), so this does not appear to be an independant report/evaluation by an industry expert--which would be nice to see...

I do see now that GM and Ford and some others are mentioned in the 10K. I wish their PR's at least had a quote from someone at those companies--the 2 I read did not.

It's more than just lasering parts, there are robotics involved when doing large volume runs. They would not be able to crank out thousands of parts quickly doing it manually.

BTW, PO stands for Purchase Order.
