BTW, I pay about 3 times the tax you do on a similar sized house in your county. Now the governor wants to throw us a $240 bone and make the problem even worse with portability.

Probably closer to double.

I admit I'm struggling with how to vote on Amendment 1. I would really like portability... I want to downsize within a couple of years and really don't want to upsize my property taxes going into retirement. On the other hand the entire tax system is really unfair. And I don't want to cut funding for local government which I think are doing a pretty good job.

Do the right thing or the selfish thing? I think a lot of people are pondering the same... and I bet #1 doesn't get it's 60% of the votes. (On the other hand not a lot of Dems have a reason to vote in the primaries and I can't imagine the Republicans NOT voting for a tax cut).
