Rightwing smear campaigns must end. They prey on the most prejudiced and ignorant voters and are trying to keep them from getting over their prejudices, phobias and belief in false myths. The rightwing leadership needs to publicly condemn these smear campaigns and also to apologize to John Kerry, Max Cleland and John McCain, commending their combat heroism. Bush himself should do this actually. He is ultimately responsible and was the beneficiary of three such smear campaigns which Rove arranged for him.
