OT it's got one of the highest unemployment rates in the nation, but a much lower 'uninsured' rate than other states. Must be due to those 'dastardly SOCIALIST auto unions'!! Well it could reasonably be argued that they are part of the reason for the high unemployment rate. OTOH its easy to overstate their importance in this. It takes less workers to make automobile's in the past. Even if the union contracts hurt American automakers, its not like they would go out and hire a bunch of workers it they didn't have the contract obligations to current and previous employees.
