GU - According to ipohome.com Gushan's quiet period is up next weekend on January 27th, and then perhaps we'll hear some recommendations and earnings guidance from their underwriters (which are some heavy hitters):

Merrill Lynch Lead Manager
CIBC World Markets Co Manager
Piper Jaffray Co Manager

I like the Chinese alternative energy stocks, because China needs a lot of energy and oil might be approaching peak supply. Many of these stocks are both good trading stocks and good long term holds, because if their earnings start to materialize as predicted, then they have some nice upwards moves ahead. I think they are undervalued because many American investors are afraid of investing in companies in a foreign developing market. Seeking Alhpa noted that Canadian Solar (CSIQ) is trading at a fraction of FSLR, despite simliar outlooks for revenues and earnings.

GU -- I would guess the analyst estimates are in renminbi. If you look at the prospectus, you see that for the first 9 mos of 2007 they earned 1.82RMB and .24USD.
