plus great benefits, and pension most likely has a cola so they get huge increases throughout retirement. sometimes the significant other can drop his medical because the civil service jobs have such generous contributions towards the cost of benefits.

My guess is that they make MUCH more than that....Years ago, the ST had an article with the Top 10 paid jobs paid by the State Taxpayers.... The #1 salary was for the Football Coach at the UoW, and ALL the other 9 salaries were College Prof's, all but one, at the UoW....all over $200,000....and that article was when Don James was football coach, so it just tells you how long ago that was.....

And John is right....the benefits are terrific! Private industry can't compete with them....
