But human emitted CO2 in the 1800s was much lower than today, and is unlikely to account for the warming from that period.

The warming of the 1800's was due to the natural end of the mini ice age. But the GW Nazi's don't even want you to know there was a mini ice age and try to claim it was solely due to the industrial revolution.

Both the Little Ice Age and the Medieval Warm Period where more likely volcanic linked than anything else. Climate modeling of volcanic effects is reasonable and has been checked with recent eruptions where we could get good observational data. You still have the problem that you can't explain the late 1900's warming with any other physical mechanism and be consistent with both the data and physics. If you can, I'd love to hear it, and so would all the climate science community.
