I remember my 4th-grade teacher talking about her daughter listening to Doggie In The Window. Two years earlier Patti Page had another big hit, Tennessee Waltz. I was 8 when we had a rare ice storm in South Texas and missed several days of school. During those pre-TV days the radio was playing all the time, and Tennessee Waltz was in "heavy rotation" as they say in radio. I remember asking my mother, "What's a waltz?" I guess my ignorance was due to my Baptist upbringing. LOL
