We still have a lot of stuff around in our parks built by the CCC (Civilian Conservation Corps) during the Great Depression. Here's a typical example... Photo of the CCC Shelter at Pokagon State Park, near Angola, Indiana. Built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in 1935/36, this shelter is on the National Register of Historic Places as the "Combination Shelter". This old creek ford at one of my favorite childhood spots was probably built by the CCC... outdoors.webshots.com
