RE: Cancer coverage

As an insurance administrator one of my jobs was to screen offerings. I had to read and understand coverages and exclusions. A different provider of the same types of insurance that AFLAC offers tried to sell disability and cancer coverage. After investing considerable time reviewing the exclusions and coverages I deduced that in particular the cancer insurance was a terrible deal for the insured. When the agent returned to close the deal he confirmed my understanding and though I did not through him out, he was shown the door.

Later the AFLAC people came through and informed me their cancer insurance was something they did not like to sell. They thought the disability insurance was a much more necessary coverage and a better deal for the insured.

One more comment, AFLAC advertises quite a bit. Somebody is paying for the expensive marketing.
