Ted, these are just some guesses as to why it hasn't been adopted by smaller companies, but they may give you something to think about.
Could it be that the initial cost to install the equipment is rather high? If so, why install if it is yet to be proven on large runs, as has been pointed out by others. It would be a real shame to spend the money, and then not have it handle high volumes. It may handle high volumes, but so far we don't know.
How long does it take to pay for itself? Is the benefit seen 10 years down the road or 2 years down the road?
What's the contractual process of installing it? How much in royalties would have to be paid to ACII?
Just a few more pieces to the puzzle.
On a side note, I haven't seen this much interest in ACII in quite a while. There seems to be a lot of people thinking the time is very close for something big to take place.
