For any serious classical musician Bach must be played on a daily basis. Considering the mostly back water places that Bach lived and worked it's amazing that we have the vast majority of his work. The Brandenburg Concertos were dedicated but never played....they lingered in a musty attic for some 50 years! Bachs music was amazing, not just for its listening beauty but it was an invaluable road map for composition. Literally, by playing you learned to compose. His accomplishments will boggle minds for eternity.
