TJ, when your daughter reaches a certain age and decides to be independent and even marry somebody other than Daddy, it's not that she's a traitor. Your perspective on other people and their independence from your megalomania needs adjustment. It is much better that you do it voluntarily than with a bullet or nuclear explosion doing it for you.

< wannabe traitors lost > A peculiar view on treachery.

New Zealand's independence from Great Britain was decided by the local yokels, not by a referendum across the British Empire. It seems you are one of the colonials who had trouble understanding the concepts of civilization.

Today, literally, people in New Zealand are promoting the idea of constitutional change and NZ becoming a republic, canceling the monarchy. There haven't been accusations of treachery, treason etc.

How do people in China have a claim on the people of Taiwan? What is the stake they have in Taiwan?

There is not in fact a civil war going on. A war involves people being shot and otherwise violently attacked. That process stopped long ago, irrespective of pieces of paper.

<or so i understand> Have another attempt at understanding.

It's not the 19th century now Jay.

Joy* to the world,
