I'm not brand new. I'm grandfathered, although my profile may not show it. I joined again because I wanted to see what Mike had to say about some things as I thought the market was about to crash. His comments have a lot more value than the crap that gets printed in the financial rags, although he is biased and most people can't successfully execute his strategies. Smart guy.

I lost money betting against the market 8-10 years ago. I was right, of course, but I don't have the patience to play the market short. I can't do it, and I don't try-I have to commit. (the whole time two coworkers made $350K and $1.6M going long the internet stocks, although they later lost everything.) Since then, I actually went leveraged long at one point but generally just bought into some index funds. I really made money shooting the moon at work...

there's money to be made going long right now, but I don't have enough insight to see exactly what it is. Note that I don't feel great about some of the longs that I do have. I may sell out one of them.
