I'm not sure what field she's decided to pursue now that her Social dream job has been all but eliminated? And I do agree.......being a small business person myself........that we are a large part of the giant engine that keeps this nation prosperous. Profits are important to us considering all of the risk involved in working with numerous clients and other business's that do our sub work and taking into consideration the time spent, and effort made to do the job on time and as perfectly as possible. As well as making sure all the required paperwork is done properly.

The cost of doing business is becoming very onerous. There are local taxes and fees, plus the business license for each city were we do business. Plus State taxes and fees as well as bonding and licensing. On top of that there are the Federal taxes. We decided about a decade ago to eliminate all employees and use subs instead. That has worked in our favor, but we have to make sure that they are following the rules and licensing and bonding themselves at the same or higher rate as us or we pay the difference through our insurer. BTW, the cost of insurance has tripled in that decade and is now in the tens of thousands per yr.

Hilly, or any dem for that matter has always been so anti-business that we are willing to just chuck it all if it gets down to that and retire while maybe doing a little work if need be under ground.
