Short term fixes and patches. A long term fix requires
a whole lot of pain, which is politically unacceptable.
Lots of manipulation. The Fed was run by a schmuck (AG) for
18 years, who transformed the US economy to a Ponzi economy.
This was not sustainable, and a big crisis was coming,
because the imbalances were not allowed to be purged by
a recession, and thus accumulated in every subsequent recovery.

Thanks to these policies of blowing bubbles, the crap we are
now facing.
