RMF, > We've seen it in Christianity from the Crusades to the Inquisition.

We've seen it in atheism from the Third Reich to the Soviet Union and China.

Europeans are the most kind and forgiving people on Earth? LOL ...

Gaza and Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.

Take it up with someone from the religions practiced there.

"the Crusades to the Inquisition"

Okay, these are sins of Christianity. I am happy one has to reach back 500 years to find such things.

Now take a look at atheistic societies of the past century - one sees genocides and mass killings that dwarves what Christian societies have done.

In today's world you'll probably find the most secular (atheistic) populations in Europe (especially the Nordic countries) and I defy anyone to find a more kind and forgiving people anywhere else.

You realize we've had to go to war to stamp out genocidal regimes in Europe don't you? The last time was only a decade or so ago (see Sarajevo, Kosovo).

Speaking of the 4 Nordic countries - during the big major round of genocide (WWII) of the last century, what were they doing? A couple of those countries were occupied pretty peacefully by the Nazis, another was strictly neutral, and the fourth was an active ally of Nazi Germany. I'm not sure this is something great to brag about.
