The major religions h/b around for a couple thousand years or so. Not much compared to dinosaurs but we are a young species. We haven't been doing anything very long - living in cities, farming, reading, writing, wearing pants.

When you look at the societies which are doing well and those which aren't, the Aztecs and other superstitious people seem less successful than the non-superstitious.

The Spaniards conquered the Aztecs with the help of the Aztecs native enemies. The disappearance of the Aztec religion would be an example of evolution culling off a less fit religion. We don't know enough to say how superstitious the Aztecs were compared to their contemporaries, Spanish and other.

One of the reasons we should all learn as much as we can as quickly and in as many venues as possible.

Knowledge is power, ignorance is slavery.
