Good. I thought it worth clearing that up in case people misunderstood and panicked and dumped gold when they should be BUYING more [in your opinion].

My guess is that the central bankers will get it wrong and their panic is misplaced. Northern Rock, Citibank and other financial miscreants will be bought out and fired for their wastrel ways. That has already happened as people holding the money are swooping like hungry vultures on those in trouble,. Those who wait too long to get their piece of the action will find the tsunami of cash sloshing around the world looking for a place to land will have already nobbled all the juicy bits leaving a few tendons and bones to crunch on.

I don't see why we should put our faith in central banks and governments such as King George II on the way down any more than on the way up. They are likely to get it wrong as usual.

Swarms of clever people with lots of money are wondering when to buy, hoping to avoid the fate you predict of the most people being ruined. After one layer of people are ruined, the next will step up to grab the bargains, only to find that they too are being ruined. Last one in makes the money. Last one in misses out altogether. In too early loses money.
