Well, after a "Holy crap" day for my CDN equity-based portfolio this past Tuesday - described in this post:

Message 24235483

... where my portfolio was down approx 6% on the day (and that's with over 1/2 my portfolio in cash and physical bullion, meaning that the equity position of my portfolio was down over 12% on the day) ...

... my portfolio ended up a fraction of a % over the week. Unbelievable! All those "-16%" and "-20%" numbers effectively made up ALL there lost ground during the remainder of the week.

What on earth kind of volatility and market behavior is this? Surely this is VERY bearish behavior, and cannot portend well for equity market performance going forward. Truly, it seems to me the global credit system is on the verge of collapse.

Thoughts?
