The Rodriguez comments were interesting. There will be some capital shortfalls with accurate pricing, that's almost assured. Some of those financial institutions will have to be merged into healthier ones and their management will be shown the door.

However, there will also be financial institutions who have taken write offs that are too large.

I just heard three more people on Fox Business News talk about the lack of pricing and opacity, although they didn't use the term. Moreover, several comments were along the lines of comparing the current debacle with the Japanese real estate bubble I mentioned in a previous message. The similarities are not being lost on the market. There are differences to be sure, but as we wind through this I believe that you will see more comparisons being made, especially to the need for moving assets off balance sheets of institutions.
