I think that is a correct assumption, RCR....BUT until the women themselves believe they have the RIGHT to NOT be killed, or maimed in any way, and until they wear the burkas as a matter of THEIR choice, not a male dominated society's choice, then I don't know how it could happen.

The few brave women to try to break that barrier in their country, probably will just be killed. The only way I can see that change would happen, is that the mullahs are no longer in charge and making the manmade rules they demand the citizens live under.

If ALL women in the country were free to come outside without their covering, veils, burkas, etc and could all come out at the same exact time, then maybe... Surely they wouldn't kill every woman at the same time.

Many of us remember Iran, for instance. We remember that only women who wanted to do so, wore the burka. Most women did not wear it, from the looks of the pictures in the magazines when the Government was under the Shah.

Jimmy Carter in his wisdom (?????) helped to overthrow the Shah. Look where that got the people of Iran. Before his downfall, we hardly heard of terrorism, nor terrorism camps to learn how to kill Americans, Christians, and Jews.

And if Americans really don't take the time to learn History and see what happened and why, I don't have much faith that things will get much better for our next generation, or even for the next few generations. If this problem doesn't get resolved, our children and theirs will have to live under the threat of mass terrorism throughout the world, and perhaps even in this country.

Only problem with that theory, 25 years ago Iranian women, at least in the big cities, were as free as American women. Look at 'em now. They're singing I am Woman Hear Me Roar behind veils.

I have told my wife and friends for years that I believe the solution to radical Islamism will be the emancipation of Muslim women.
