Think you have something there- but things are a little better- 10 years ago on busy days you wouldn't get your execution notice till about 3 hours later.

yep...

during the 1987 crash brokers would just refuse to pick up the phone...

traders are under the mistaken notions that they *supposedly* have direct access to their accounts electronically, normally you do, but when the hedgies no likey the market action, it's as you say 'pull the plug'

like i said in my previous post, wait till we get a full blown panic with markets plunging and 'all systems are down'

these repeated market hangs and glitches on days like this (how many have we had now?) should be red flags all around

retail traders are just remoras swimming along with the sharks

The remora benefits by using the host as transport and protection and also feeds on materials dropped by the host. There is some controversy over whether a remora's diet is primarily leftover fragments, or actually the feces of the host.
