Nike is selling a market leader in Hockey, just bought Umbro into the fold for soccer. I've been thinking all along with the Tiger marketing success. Nike would consider golf a core business besides footwear and apparel, therefore would be willing to expand through a golf acquisition. I own no shares in ELY or Adams, but have considered both in the past. ELY would have to be a friendly deal, but I'm thinking along the lines of the past Converse deal.
Nike letting a golf acquisition run alone as a stand alone company, but with the marketing and financial backing of Nike behind it. Am I on the same page with anyone else here to this regard, on Nike as it relates to golf?
