I have a similar process for collecting music. I track them down much like you do but, rather than a spreadsheet or YouTube, I buy a track or two and store them in my computer library.

I had a copy of The Hottest New Group in Jazz album until I dumped my vinyl maybe a year ago. Manhattan Transfer filled that niche reasonably well for a while. I had forgotten about LHR and Manhattan Transfer until you posted, so thank you for the memory.

I think that Twisted is their best work. I have eclectic taste, too, and I can appreciate the best of most any form of music, but just can't warm up to scat. I enjoy their dexterous lyrics and voices so much I tolerate the scat. <g>
