Any time you have taxes that are interventionist, and aren't very low, you are going to create perverse incentives. Sure you can put in a marginal fix to take care of some of the worst ones that we notice, but the only real way to get rid of them nearly completely is to have very low, and very simple taxes, and unfortunately I don't view that as a realistic possibility in today's political climate. not disrupt the funding of the necessary functions of the government. With almost $3tril in spending, we go far beyond the necessary functions of government.
