I may be really off base here, but I have thought for years that it won't end until we have a massive blow off, much like Japan around 1990.

I haven't seen it yet, perhaps didn't realize it in 2000, but also more than possible that I'm wrong. Maybe it was the credit bubble, certainly a classic.
