It's all about the herd - if you see dip buyers all around you getting their digits amputated, it's hard to get excited about jumping in there with them.

Selling waves usually exhaust themselves eventually. But looking back at 2001-2002 reminded me how long that can take when there are storm clouds all around us.

Earnings suck the big one right now. Functionally, this will keep pressure on the FED to make big rate hikes. The only thing that makes sense to me in the market are the banks which have already been decimated. Commodoties look like shit, growth looks like shit, and tech looks like shit.

Someone needs to develop a q1 survival kit.
