No it doesn't, but that's what makes the market.

Getting to cash when market is decimated is the worst possible thing to do. That's why people earn subpar returns - they miss the turnarounds. But it's your money and your call. I may not get out of the market when it is richly priced, but I would not get out of it even more when things are cheap. You don't know that they will get cheaper, you don't know that the prices will be falling down from here and you don't know when it will turn around. Nobody does. All the traders are just gamblers getting their fix. And you can call it "capital preservation" but it is really fear that is ruling you now.
