You arent alone....but you and Krugman only have 28% of your fellow Americans on your side. A poll from June '07 showed Reagan with a 72% approval rating.

You still might not want to complement him, but denying his popularity doesnt make any sense.

I am definitely not alone:

I didn't say you were alone, I said your view was the minority view. Most Americans, Dem or Rep or whatever, have a positive view of Ronnie Raygun. The collective "we" like him.

Mary;

There is a huge difference between Reagan and Bush.

Reagan took an economic disaster that was ready to destroy America and fixed it. Bush took an economic wonder and destroyed it.

Mary,

Imo, Reagan convinced enough of the American people that it was the 1950s instead of 1980s, they were living in. In 2000, Bush convinced enough of the people, it was the 1980s. instead of the first decade of the new century they were living in. In the year 2008, the Clintons are trying to convince enough of the people, it is the 90s we are living in instead of approaching the second decade of the 21st century.

And it's EASY to convince enough people of this "look back" fantasy as those were the "good ole days" ... Just like Reagan could convince people Ketchup was vegies.. LOL

Read ""What's the Matter with Kansas".. It explains it all.

People should realize governing is a dynamic process that should change with the times because "the times they are changing".. :)

But they just don't seem to, so the politicians exploit that WEAKNESS

Take care,

c
